Africa Inland Church
Our Story
What began as a small prayer movement has grown into a vibrant community of faith. The story of AIC Machani is a testimony of prayer, unity, and unwavering trust in God.
The Great Commission
Responding to Matthew 28:19–20 "Go ye." We are zealous to reach those around us and beyond.
Edifying Saints
Preparing God’s people for service and presenting everyone perfect in Christ (Eph 4:12–13, Col 1:28–29).
Defending Faith
Delivering people from deceiving cults and ungodly traditions that lead people away from God.
The Beginning
Machani Church began over 40 years ago in a community with no proper roads, tapped water, or local church. Residents traveled long distances to Kijabe Mission for worship.
The Visionary Elders
Zakayo Kahunya, D. Kahoro, Stanley Ngugi, and D. Thwairi.
Driven by a vision for their community, these elders started weekly Friday Bible studies in homes across the village. As they prayed for a church, God inspired them to establish a Sunday School and support the elderly in the community.
Growth and Expansion
With the growing population, the congregation expanded, leading the Kijabe Local Church Council to approve the construction of a larger church. In October 1997, the first fundraiser successfully raised KSh 558,629.
Laying the Foundation
On June 6, 1999, the church land was dedicated by Rev. Julius Mwangi alongside other leaders, and construction began under the supervision of Mr. A. Z. Kago.
A Legacy of Faith
Today, Machani Church stands as a testimony of prayer, unity, faith, and commitment to fulfilling God’s mission. From Friday Bible studies in village homes to the vibrant sanctuary today, our journey remains rooted in Him.
